What is FTB Chunks?
FTB Chunks by the FTB Team handles land claiming, grief protection, chunk loading, and mapping in one mod for Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric. Its claim interface is the standard in FTB and All the Mods packs: open the map and drag over the chunks you want — that is the whole process.
Claims integrate with FTB Teams, so a party shares territory, protection settings, and loaded chunks.
Claiming and Force-Loading
- Open the claim map (keybind listed under Controls, plus a button in the inventory screen on most packs) and left-drag across chunks to claim them for your team.
- Force-load claimed chunks by shift-dragging: force-loaded chunks (marked with stripes) stay active for farms and machines even while you are offline, within pack-set limits.
- Protection: claimed chunks block outsiders from breaking, placing, and interacting; team allies get access. Admins tune protection rules server-side.
- Limits on claimed and force-loaded chunk counts come from the pack or server config, sometimes scaling with playtime or game stages.
- The built-in minimap and large map show claims, waypoints, and player positions, and coexist with Xaero's or JourneyMap overlays in most packs.
Note: Force-loading is the feature servers restrict hardest. If machines stall overnight, check whether your force-load allowance is zero or your team's offline loading is disabled.
