What is Chunk Loaders?

Chunk Loaders by SuperMartijn642 adds dedicated blocks that keep map chunks active while you are elsewhere — the clean answer to "why did my furnace array stop when I left?" It covers Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge with one intuitive mechanic and a visual chunk-selection map.

Four tiers scale the loaded area: the Single Chunk Loader (1 chunk) up through Basic, Advanced, and Ultimate Chunk Loader covering a large grid.

Usage and Server Behavior

  1. Place a loader at the automation site.
  2. Right-click it to open the chunk map and paint exactly which chunks in its range stay loaded — no wasted loaded area.
  3. Walk away. Farms, machines, and crops in painted chunks keep ticking.

Server-relevant details:

  • Offline handling: by default, chunks stay loaded while the owning player is offline for a configurable grace period (pack-dependent; some servers disable offline loading entirely).
  • Per-player accounting lets admins cap loaded chunks per player in config.
  • All loaders are craftable at reasonable early-game cost, so chunk loading stops being an endgame privilege.

Note: Chunk loading multiplies server load — every loaded farm ticks forever. Load the minimum chunks that cover the machines, and prefer one well-planned loader over many scattered singles.

Chunk Loaders FAQ

Do Chunk Loaders work when I log off?

By default yes, subject to the server's offline-timeout config. Admins commonly set a grace window (for example, chunks unload 30 minutes after the owner logs out).

How many chunks can one loader keep active?

The Single loader holds 1 chunk; higher tiers open larger grids, with the Ultimate loader covering the widest area. Within the grid you select individual chunks on its map.
