What is FTB Ultimine?
FTB Ultimine by the FTB Team is the vein-mining standard in modern packs: hold the Ultimine key (grave/tilde ~ by default), highlighted connected blocks glow, and one swing breaks them all. It covers ore veins, tree felling, crop harvesting, and digging patterns, on Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric.
Balance comes from hunger: each extra block consumes exhaustion, so massive veins eat into your food bar.
Shapes, Limits, and Crop Mode
- Hold the key, mine once: all connected identical blocks (up to the pack's cap, commonly 64) break together with correct tool drops and durability use.
- Shape cycling: while holding Ultimine, cycle shapes with the configured keys — connected vein, small tunnel, escalator up/down, and flat mining patterns for branch tunnels and terraforming.
- Right-click harvesting: Ultimine plus right-click on mature crops harvests and replants the connected field in one action.
- Merged block groups: pack tags group related blocks (all copper ore variants, log families) so mixed veins break together sensibly.
- Hunger cost scales per block; keep saturation topped up before clearing a quarry face by hand.
Server owners tune max block counts, shapes, and per-block hunger in the FTB Ultimine config.

Why does Ultimine stop at 64 blocks?
The block cap is pack config. Servers balance performance and gameplay with it; some raise it via game stages or playtime rewards.
Does Ultimine work with mining machines or only tools?
It is a player-tool mechanic and respects the tool in hand: correct drops, enchantments, and durability apply per block broken.
