What is Carry On?
Carry On by Tschipp lets you physically pick up block entities and mobs: sneak, hit the pickup key on an empty hand, and walk away carrying the chest — contents, orientation, and all. The block renders in your arms, your hands are full (no hotbar switching), and placing it down restores everything intact.
Chests full of loot, furnaces mid-smelt, villagers who refuse to pathfind — all become luggage on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge.
Rules and Configuration
- Pick up blocks: sneak plus the interact key (right-click by default) on a block entity with an empty hand. Machines keep inventories and progress.
- Pick up mobs: the same gesture lifts animals and, config permitting, hostile mobs; carried creatures render on your back or arms.
- Movement penalties: carrying applies slowness scaled by the target's "weight"; sprinting and jumping stay possible but sluggish for heavy blocks.
- Blacklists: packs configure which blocks and entities are carryable — spawners are the classic policy decision, enabled in some packs as a feature and disabled in others for balance.
- Stacking: carrying a mob and clicking another can stack entities in some configs (chicken towers are exactly as silly as they sound).
Note: You cannot open GUIs, attack, or use items while carrying. Set things down before fights; getting hit does not drop the load, but you are effectively unarmed.
Carry On FAQ
Can Carry On move spawners?
Only if the pack allows it; spawner pickup ships disabled by default in many configurations. Check the carryon config or the pack's notes.
Do chests keep their items when carried?
Yes. Inventory, custom names, and facing survive the trip; machines even continue their smelting progress once placed.
Why can I not pick up a particular mob or block?
It is blacklisted by size, health, or pack config. Bosses and very large mobs are excluded by default.
