What is the YUNG's Better Series?

YUNGNICKYOUNG's "Better" series rebuilds vanilla structures one by one into versions worthy of their names, keeping vanilla's footprint and loot logic while multiplying the architecture, variety, and atmosphere. Each structure ships as its own mod for Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric (all requiring YUNG's API), so packs mix and match.

The craftsmanship is the selling point: these read like structures vanilla would ship if each got a dedicated art pass.

The Series at a Glance

  • Better Mineshafts – winding, layered mine networks with surface entrances, rare treasure rooms, and biome-themed wood.
  • Better Dungeons – spawner rooms become multi-room dungeon complexes themed as skeleton crypts, zombie prisons, or spider dens.
  • Better Strongholds – the End-portal maze grows libraries, armories, and grand halls worth mapping.
  • Better Desert Temples – trap-laden pyramid interiors that finally justify the exterior.
  • Better Ocean Monuments and Better Witch Huts – expanded aquatic fortresses and actual witch dwellings.
  • Better Nether Fortresses – the fortress grid becomes a layered citadel.
  • Better Jungle Temples and Better End Island – matching treatment for the remaining classics.
  • YUNG's Bridges and Extras – decorative worldgen such as bridges, wells, and firetowers rounding out the set.

Everything generates in vanilla-appropriate locations, so structure-locating tools and maps behave as expected.

YUNG's Better Structures Suite FAQ

Do YUNG's structures replace vanilla ones?

Yes, each mod substitutes its overhauled version where the vanilla structure would generate, preserving locate commands, maps, and loot expectations.

Can I use only some of the series?

Yes, every structure is a standalone mod plus the shared YUNG's API. Packs commonly ship a subset.

Are seeds compatible with the vanilla versions?

Structure positions stay seed-consistent; the buildings themselves differ. Expect vanilla structure hunts and speedrun routes to still work geographically.
