Tom's Simple Storage by tom5454 gives you the digital-storage experience — one searchable terminal over all your chests — at wooden-tools prices, on Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt. There is nothing to power and no disks or channels to manage, because the mod simply reads the chests you already own.
For early game, skyblock starts, and vanilla-plus packs, it is the fastest route from chest chaos to a searchable base inventory.
Setting Up the Network
- Place an Inventory Connector touching your chest wall. It links every adjacent inventory into one pool — chests, barrels, drawers, and most modded storage — and chains of touching inventories all join.
- Attach a Storage Terminal to the connector (directly or via Inventory Cable runs). Open it for a searchable, sortable view of everything.
- Prefer the Crafting Terminal once you can afford it — same view plus a crafting grid with recipe-book and JEI/REI integration.
- Extend with cables and Inventory Cable Connectors to reach remote rooms; Inventory Proxy blocks re-expose the network to hoppers elsewhere.
- Go wireless late-game with the Wireless Terminal and Advanced Wireless Terminal (cross-dimension with a beacon-based range extender).
Utility extras include the Inventory Hopper (filtered pulling from the network side), Level Emitter (redstone on item counts), and the Open Crate for item-drop interfaces with other mods.
