What is Nature's Compass?
Nature's Compass by Chaosyr is the biome-finding counterpart to structure compasses: craft it, pick any biome from a searchable list — vanilla or modded — and the needle guides you there with distance readout. On worlds running Biomes O' Plenty, Terralith, or Oh The Biomes We've Gone, it turns "where is a Mystic Grove" from an hour of wandering into a bearing and a number.
It ships for Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge across an enormous version range.
How to Use It
- Craft the compass — logs and saplings around a vanilla compass in the standard recipe.
- Sneak right-click to open the biome selection GUI; search supports name fragments and mod filters.
- Select a biome to start the search. The compass samples outward from your position (radius configurable server-side).
- Follow the HUD: holding the compass shows target biome, distance, and direction; the needle tracks live as you travel.
Notes:
- Searches are point-in-time; re-search after long journeys for a fresh nearest-instance fix.
- Modded biomes appear automatically since the list reads the biome registry.
- Server admins can blacklist biomes and cap search radius for performance.
