What is Mouse Tweaks?

Mouse Tweaks by YaLTeR upgrades what your mouse buttons do inside inventories, and its version list famously stretches back to Beta 1.7.3. Every modpack ships it because ten seconds of moving items the vanilla way already justifies the install.

It is client-side only and works in every GUI, vanilla or modded.

The Four Tweaks

  • Left-button drag: hold left over a stack and drag across slots to spread single stacks — vanilla behavior, made reliable and extended to picking up multiple stacks of one item type as you sweep.
  • Right-button drag: hold right and sweep to drop one item into each slot you cross — the fast way to fill furnace arrays and crafting grids.
  • Wheel tweak: scroll over a stack to move items one at a time between inventories; scroll direction controls send versus take.
  • Shift-drag: hold shift and sweep to mass shift-click every stack you touch — empty a chest row in one motion.

Each tweak toggles independently in the config if any conflicts with another inventory mod. Combined with a sorting mod, chest management effectively becomes gestures.

Mouse Tweaks FAQ

Is Mouse Tweaks client-side?

Yes. It installs on the client only and works on any server, vanilla included.

Does Mouse Tweaks conflict with Inventory Profiles Next or sorters?

They stack well; both are staples in the same packs. If a specific gesture double-fires, disable the overlapping tweak in either mod's config.
