What is Controlling?
Controlling by Jaredlll08 adds a search bar to the Controls screen. That single sentence undersells how necessary it is: a 250-mod pack ships four hundred keybinds, and finding "open backpack" among them without search is archaeology.
It installs client-side on Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric, and every kitchen-sink pack includes it.
Search, Conflicts, and Free Keys
- Search by name: type "waypoint" and only waypoint-related binds stay visible.
- Search by key: the key-search mode lists everything bound to a specific key — press G and see all five mods fighting over it.
- Conflict filter: one toggle shows only conflicting binds, red-highlighted; resolve them in a single pass when setting up a new pack.
- Unbound filter lists actions with no key, where optional features hide.
- Quick unbind/reset per entry cleans up without hunting.
First-day pack ritual: open Controls, filter conflicts, fix the handful that matter (minimap, quests, backpacks, veinmining), and unbind the emote menus you will never use.
Controlling FAQ
Does Controlling change any keybinds itself?
No, it only adds search and filtering UI to the existing Controls screen. All binding behavior stays vanilla.
Is Controlling client-side?
Yes, client-only and safe on any server.
