What is Corail Tombstone?
Corail Tombstone by Corail31 is the deep end of death-recovery mods for Forge and NeoForge. Dying entombs your inventory in a decorated grave and hands your respawned self a Grave's Key bound to it; from there the mod expands into a full progression system of death-themed magic: knowledge points, perks, soulbound gear, and teleport scrolls.
Packs choose it over simpler grave mods precisely for that depth — dying becomes a mechanic with build-around options rather than only a setback.
Graves, Keys, and Recovery
- On death: a grave forms holding everything, protected from other players and decay-configurable. You respawn with the Grave's Key pointing at it.
- The key shows distance and dimension; right-click behavior teleports you to the grave when the config allows (often at an XP cost) or simply guides you.
- Opening your grave returns items to their original slots and grants a short grace buff. Graves also collect a Fallen Soul used in the mod's crafting.
- Knowledge of Death: deaths and grave interactions earn knowledge levels spent on perks such as better key behavior, decay resistance, and access to the magic items.
- Magic items: Scrolls and tablets of recall and unstable teleportation, the Soulbound enchantment (items stay with you through death), Familiar Receptacles that revive pets, and ghostly gear crafted around grave dust and souls.
Tip: Prioritize the Soulbound enchantment for your weapon or tool of record. One less thing in the grave is one less thing at risk in lava-adjacent deaths.
