What is Continuity?
Continuity by PepperCode1 brings OptiFine-format connected textures to the modern mod stack: glass panes that merge into unbroken sheets, bookshelves that flow together, sandstone walls without grid lines. It parses the same resource-pack CTM format OptiFine defined, so the enormous library of existing connected-texture packs works unchanged.
It is built for efficiency alongside Sodium on Fabric (with NeoForge builds on recent versions), completing the "OptiFine replacement" checklist next to Iris and Sodium Extra.
Setup and Resource Packs
- Install Continuity; its two built-in resource packs activate from the resource pack screen — one enables default connected glass and stone variants, the other provides the glass-pane culling fix.
- Add CTM resource packs (Fusion-style or OptiFine-format): packs like "Continuity-ready" glass packs or classic OptiFine CTM packs drop in normally.
- Order matters: place CTM packs above the built-ins when both modify the same blocks.
- On older Fabric versions with Sodium 0.5 and earlier, Indium was required for the Fabric Rendering API; current Sodium versions handle it natively.
Emissive textures (glowing ores, eyes) from the OptiFine format are also supported, making Continuity the standard bridge for texture-pack features on performance-focused clients.
