What is Storage Drawers?
Storage Drawers by Texelsaur is the original drawer mod, in continuous service since Minecraft 1.7.10 and available for Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric. Each drawer block stores one to four item types in visible, labeled compartments, and everything happens by clicking. A right-click inserts, a left-click extracts, and a double-right-click dumps every matching item from your inventory.
Its interaction model is so intuitive that a decade of storage mods copied it. For sorting rooms, crafting-ingredient walls, and farm output buffers, drawers remain the standard.
Drawers, Controller, and Upgrades
- Drawer sizes: full-block drawers in 1x1, 1x2, and 2x2 layouts, plus half-depth variants for tighter walls.
- Compacting Drawer: stores a material in up to three compression forms (nugget, ingot, block) with automatic conversion.
- Drawer Controller: click one block to deposit into the whole connected wall; drawers link through each other and through trim blocks. Pipes pointed at the controller see the entire bank.
- Controller Slave extends access points on big walls.
- Upgrades: storage upgrades multiply capacity, the Void Upgrade trashes overflow, the Lock (applied with a key) preserves item assignments at zero, and status upgrades add fill-level indicators.
- Drawer Key, Quantify Key, and Personal Key toggle locking, count display, and player-ownership respectively.
Tip: Lock your drawers. A locked empty drawer keeps its item assignment, so automation refills the right slot rather than contaminating your wall with mixed junk.

Place it touching the drawer bank (drawers and trim conduct the connection) and right-click it with items to deposit into matching drawers anywhere in the network. Automation targeting the controller reaches every linked drawer.
What is the difference between Storage Drawers and Functional Storage?
Both are drawer systems. Storage Drawers is the long-running classic with the widest version and loader coverage; Functional Storage is a newer redesign with extras like the Armory Cabinet and Ender Drawer. Packs usually include one or the other.
Do drawers work with hoppers and pipes?
Yes. Individual drawers accept insertion and extraction, and the Drawer Controller exposes whole networks to any inventory-moving mod.
