What is Furniture: Refurbished?

MrCrayfish's Furniture Mod defined furniture modding for a decade; Refurbished is its ground-up rebuild for modern versions (1.20.1+, on Forge, NeoForge, and Fabric with the Framework library). The signature remains functional furniture: appliances that genuinely work rather than serving as decorative shapes.

The style leans contemporary, toward kitchens, electronics, and patios, complementing the medieval-leaning furniture mods rather than competing with them.

Working Appliances and Sets

  • Kitchen: the Fridge and Freezer store food, the Stove and Range Hood cook, the Microwave reheats fast, and the Grill barbecues with real flipping.
  • Mail: Mailboxes send items between players via the Post Box network — beloved server infrastructure for gifting and shops.
  • Electronics: televisions, light switches, ceiling fans, and doorbells bring suburban energy.
  • Bathroom and utility: sinks with plumbing behavior, toilets (of course), and bins that actually void items.
  • Seating and tables in wood and modern finishes, plus outdoor sets with umbrellas and coolers for patio builds.
  • Lighting: lamps, ceiling lights, and switches with wired toggle behavior.

Everything interacts with the wider game too — hoppers feed freezers, comparators read appliances, and the mail system runs server-wide. It is the mod for building a functioning modern home.

MrCrayfish's Furniture: Refurbished FAQ

How do mailboxes work?

Place a mailbox and register it; other players send items to it from any Post Box by selecting the recipient mailbox. It is the standard server gifting infrastructure.

Is Refurbished the same as the old Furniture Mod?

It is the official rebuild for 1.20+: same author and philosophy, rewritten content with working appliances. The classic mod covers older versions.
