What is Oh The Biomes We've Gone?

Oh The Biomes We've Gone (BWG) is the official successor to Oh The Biomes You'll Go (BYG), rebuilt for 1.20.1+ by JT122406 and the team, on Fabric, Forge, and NeoForge. It carries forward BYG's reputation for dramatic, screenshot-bait biomes — over fifty of them — with new wood sets, plants, and terrain features rebuilt on modern worldgen tech.

If your pack ran BYG on 1.18–1.19, BWG is the same lineage on current versions.

Biomes and Materials

Fan-favorite biomes returning and debuting:

  • Skyris Highlands – the iconic teal-canopied peaks with glowing skyris wood.
  • Forgotten Forest and Weeping Witch Forest – moody magical woodland.
  • Red Rock Valley and Dunes – American-Southwest canyon country.
  • Cika Woods, Aspen Boreal, and Maple Taiga – forests whose trees carry top-tier building woods.
  • Ebony Hills, Baobab Savanna, and Jacaranda Jungle, with dozens more across every temperature band.

Every biome contributes its wood set — skyris, cika, maple, ebony, baobab and more, each with full plank, door, and fence families — plus flowers, food plants, and ambience blocks. Nether and End additions extend the treatment to the other dimensions.

BWG registers through TerraBlender-style regions, coexisting with Terralith and Biomes O' Plenty in mixed worlds — the classic "big three biomes" pack setup.

Oh The Biomes We've Gone FAQ

What happened to Oh The Biomes You'll Go?

BYG covers up to 1.19-era versions; Oh The Biomes We've Gone is its official sequel for 1.20.1 onward with rebuilt internals and much of the beloved content.

Does BWG work with Terralith and BOP together?

Yes, the three share generation through region weighting. Expect each mod's biomes to appear proportionally less often than solo.
