What is Epic Fight?
Epic Fight transforms Minecraft's click-spam combat into a third-person action game on Forge and NeoForge: full-body animations, weapon-specific movesets and combos, a stamina bar, dodges, guards, and executable skills. Mobs fight back with their own animated movesets, so the change cuts both ways.
It is the deepest combat overhaul available, and packs build entire RPG experiences around it.
Core Mechanics
- Battle mode toggle: switch between vanilla ("mining") mode and battle mode with R by default. Battle mode enables the combat camera along with locked animations and combos.
- Weapon categories (swords, greatswords, spears, katanas, daggers, axes, fists and more) each carry distinct combo chains, innate skills, and hit properties.
- Stamina gates attacks, dodges, and guards — overcommitting leaves you staggered.
- Skills slot into loadouts: dodge variants, guard breaks, passives, and weapon arts earned through play.
- Datapack tuning: movesets, damage, and mob compatibility configure through datapacks, which is how packs like DawnCraft build their combat identity.
- Compatibility: weapons from other mods map into categories via config; dedicated compat packs cover big weapon mods.
Expect a learning curve: mobs animate windups you must respect, and armor matters less than positioning until you internalize the dodge timing.
Epic Fight FAQ
How do I switch to battle mode in Epic Fight?
Press the mode key (R by default). Battle mode enables combos, dodging, and the combat camera; mining mode restores vanilla interactions for building.
Does Epic Fight work with other mods' weapons?
Yes through configuration and compat datapacks that assign modded weapons to Epic Fight categories with appropriate movesets.
