What is Ender IO?

Ender IO is a full-featured tech mod for Forge and NeoForge, famous for its conduits: item, fluid, energy, and redstone lines that all share the same block space. One tidy conduit bundle replaces the pipe spaghetti of four separate systems, and per-face filters, channels, and round-robin modes make it a complete logistics layer on its own.

Around the conduits sits a dense machine set — ore processing, alloying, mob farming, and the upgradeable Dark Steel gear line. The modern rewrite for recent Minecraft versions rebuilt the mod module by module.

Getting Started: Infinity and Alloys

  1. Make Grains of Infinity. Light a fire on top of bedrock and it drops Infinity Powder — the strange little ritual that starts the mod.
  2. Craft the Alloy Smelter. Ender IO runs on alloys: Energetic Alloy, Vibrant Alloy, Dark Steel, Pulsating Iron, and friends, all mixed here from common metals plus ender pearls, glowstone, and redstone.
  3. Add a SAG Mill. It grinds ores with bonus outputs, and Grinding Balls made from alloys boost yield and efficiency.
  4. Power up. The Stirling Generator burns solids to start; capacitor upgrades inside machines raise their speed and buffers. Move power with Energy Conduits.
  5. Lay conduit bundles. Item, fluid, energy, and redstone conduits coexist in one block; configure each face's insert/extract mode, filters, and color channels with the Yeta Wrench.

Machine internals accept Capacitors — Basic, Double-Layer, and Octadic — which multiply machine performance and are a signature part of tuning an Ender IO base.

Signature Machines and Gear

  • Powered Spawner – runs a captured mob spawner on FE; capture souls with a Soul Vial and rebind spawners in the Soul Binder.
  • Killer Joe – swings a weapon for you, collecting player-kill loot and XP from a small area in front of it.
  • The Vat – ferments fluids (nutrient distillation and friends) for machine fuels.
  • Wired Charger and Painting Machine – charge gear and re-skin blocks for aesthetics.
  • Dark Steel tools and armor – accept modular upgrades: Empowered (energy shielding), glider wings, night vision, speed, jump boost, and more, installed with XP and materials.

Ender IO's Dimensional Transceiver moves items, fluids, and power wirelessly across dimensions for late-game logistics.

Ender IO FAQ

How do you get Grains of Infinity in Ender IO?

Set a fire on bedrock (flint and steel works) and let it burn out; it drops Grains of Infinity. Some packs add alternate recipes if bedrock is unreachable.

What makes Ender IO conduits special?

Multiple conduit types share one block space, so a single line carries items, fluids, power, and redstone signals with independent per-face configuration, filters, and channels.

What versions does Ender IO support?

The classic mod covers Forge 1.12.2; the modern rewrite targets recent Forge and NeoForge versions including 1.21+. Check the project page for the modules available on your version.
