What is Mahou Tsukai?

Mahou Tsukai by stepsword adapts Fate-style magecraft to Minecraft on Forge and NeoForge: Mahou (magical energy) fuels spells drawn as glowing circles on the ground, and the spell list reads like an anime highlight reel — weapon projection, reinforcement, bounded fields, familiar contracts, and reality-warping finishers.

It is deliberately different from glyph or scroll systems: spells are rituals with costs, contracts, and consequences.

Mahou, Circles, and Signature Spells

  • Gaining Mahou: your capacity grows through use and through contracts — binding villagers or players as mana batteries, with consent mechanics for multiplayer. Several rituals cost health or use blood circles, on brand for the source material.
  • Spell circles: scribe spells onto the ground with the Mystic Staff; a standing circle projects its effect, whether that is a barrier, an exchange, or a summoning.
  • Projection and Strengthening: copy a weapon as a temporary projected blade with boosted stats, or reinforce your real gear and body.
  • Weapon rain: the famous portal-volley spell suspends copies of your projected weapons in the air and fires them as a barrage.
  • Bounded Fields: area wards that damage, slow, alarm, or hide — base defense as ritual geometry.
  • Immortality ritual chains: long, costly paths for the truly committed, with consequences to match.

The mod rewards reading its in-game guide carefully; half the fun is discovering that an absurd anime moment is genuinely implementable.

Mahou Tsukai FAQ

How do I increase my Mahou capacity?

Cast regularly and form contracts: villager and player contracts add pooled capacity, and repeated use grows your personal maximum over time.

What is Projection in Mahou Tsukai?

A spell that creates a temporary copy of a weapon (including modded weapons) with enhanced stats. Paired with the weapon-rain circle it becomes the mod's signature barrage.
